This document will describe:

• How to get to Mainline (via the Chooser, using Bio/EN zone)
• That you should have specific directories on Mainline that you put Mac stuff in, and avoid directories that have some Unix files and some Mac files.
• That Macs use some hidden files that have to do with things like the icon that is illustrated for each file. Therefore, a Unix directory that will be used to store Mac files needs to have two extra directories:
  • .resource (note the leading dot)
  • .finderinfo (note the leading dot)
• That Macs use a different character for line endings than Unix does. The main point being that you should treat a file as either a Unix file or as a Mac file, and not try to have it both ways.

  (And if you want to explicitly convert a file from one to the other, I have a (Unix) script that will fix the line-endings problem.)
